NAPOLCOM adopts new online application scheduling for the April 2020 PNP Entrance Examination

January 14, 2020

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) announces the activation of the On-Line Examination Application Scheduling System (OLEASS) in the websites www.napolcom.gov.ph or www.napolcom-oleass.com for the nationwide conduct of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Entrance and Promotional Examinations on April 26, 2020.

The online application schedule is on January 27-31, 2020 for PNP Entrance (PNPE) Examination; February 3-7 for Police Officer 4th Class Examination (for Police Corporal and Police Staff Sergeant); and February 10-14 for Police Officer 3rd Class Examination (for Police Master Sergeant, Police Senior Master Sergeant, Police Chief Master Sergeant and Police Executive Master Sergeant), Police Officer 2nd Class Examination (for Police Lieutenant and Police Captain) and Police Officer 1st Class Examination (for Police Major and Police Lieutenant Colonel). The websites are available at 12:00 noon onwards during the aforementioned dates for each examination category.

NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Atty. Rogelio T. Casurao said that the Commission has adopted a new on-line scheduling system for the PNP Entrance Examination to address the issue of problematic access to the OLEASS encountered by applicants in previous examination periods.

Starting this April 2020 PNPE Examination, the first letter of an applicant’s family name or surname shall determine the scheduled date when he/she can secure online a confirmed appointment date for the filing of application. The on-line application schedule for PNPE applicants are as follows: January 27 for applicants with family names starting with A and B; January 28 for family names starting with  C, D, E and F; January 29 for family names starting with G, H, I, J, K and L; January 30 for family names starting with M, N, O, P and Q; and January 31 for family names starting with R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z.

“The Commission implemented the categorized on-line application scheduling system for the PNPE Examination to provide applicants equal opportunity to secure their schedule. However, should there be inconsistency in the first letter of the applicant’s surname as reflected in his/her identification card/s and supporting documents presented vis-à-vis that reflected in the OLEASS List, the applicant’s application shall not be processed,” Atty. Casurao said.

The OLEASS allows PNPE Examination applicants to choose the examination center where they want to take the examination regardless of their place of residence. However, for Promotional Examination applicants, the examination center is automatically assigned by the computer system based on the unit/assignment address provided by the police applicant.

The PNPE Examination is open to all Filipino citizens who are not more than 30 years old and bachelor’s degree holder. Patrolmen/Patrolwomen whose appointments are temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility are also required to take said entrance exam.

On the other hand, the Promotional Examinations are open exclusively to all qualified uniformed members of the PNP who meet the minimum qualification standards for examination in terms of rank and eligibility.

An applicant should file his/her application documents in person at any of the 17 NAPOLCOM Regional Offices on his/her scheduled appointment date. The period of filing of applications for the both the PNPE and promotional examinations is from February 24 to March 23, 2020. However, the Regional Offices limit the number of examinees they will accommodate. Acceptance of applications shall be on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis and, upon due notice, may be stopped even ahead of the deadline once they reached their examination quota.

PNPE applicants must bring the following: (1) printout of Confirmation Letter with corresponding reference number confirming the scheduled appointment; (2) printout of filled-out Application Form and duly accomplished Index Card and two recent, identical and color 1”x1” ID pictures with white background and complete name tag (for PNP members, the name tag should indicate the rank before the first, middle and last names); (3) one legal size window envelope with P20 worth of mailing stamp; (4) Transcript of Scholastic Record with Special Order issued by CHED and Diploma; and (5) Birth Certificate in security paper issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or certified true copy of the Birth Certificate issued by the Local Civil Registrar and duly authenticated by the PSA. For a Patrolman/Patrolwoman with temporary appointment, a certified true copy of Attested Appointment, Plantilla Appointment or Special Order is also required for submission.

Applicants for the Promotional Examinations should submit the first three (3) requirements mentioned above; the certified true copy of Attested Appointment, Plantilla Appointment or PNP Absorption Order; and the Report of Rating/Certification issued by the NAPOLCOM Central Office, CSC Certificate of Eligibility and/or PRC Board Certificate.

Examination fee is P400 for the PNPE and Police Officer 4th Class Examination; P450 for Police Officer 3rd Class Examination; P500 for Police Officer 2nd Class Examination; and P600 for Police Officer 1st Class Examination.

“The NAPOLCOM Regional Offices strictly implement the “No Walk-in” policy in all examination centers, except in the provinces of Batanes, Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro and Catanduanes. However, if there are still available vacant slots after the processing period for “wait-listed” applicants, the concerned Regional Office may be allowed to entertain “walk-in” applicants,” Atty. Casurao said.
