The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) today announced that the deadline for submission of nominations for the 2013 Search for Model Philippine National Police (PNP) Families has been extended to June 15, 2013.
NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo U. Escueta enjoined the families of eligible Police Commissioned Officers to participate in this year’s Search, which is the third such award to be given since 2011.
“The project encourages and inspires policemen and policewomen to become exemplary models in the PNP and the community in living up to the values of being Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan at Maka-bansa,” Escueta said.
Vice-Chairman Escueta said that the nationwide Search has been effectively carrying out its objective of engaging the community in giving recognition to outstanding police families.
“For this year, the Search is expected to make another notable stride in restoring public trust and confidence in the PNP as well as in developing competent, motivated and values-oriented police personnel in support of the PNP PATROL Plan 2030,” Escueta added.
The Search is open to all uniformed members of the PNP who have been in the police service for at least 10 years. Candidates may be nominated in the Family Category or Solo Police Parent Category by any member of the local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs) or any PNP office.
“Active involvement of the family in community-based projects and activities which significantly contributes to the overall safety and security of the public is a plus factor,” Escueta said.
Nomination forms and guidelines may be downloaded from the NAPOLCOM website at www.napolcom.gov.ph or from the DILG or NAPOLCOM Regional Office in the area.
